I felt it was necessary to do a post about something that has affected people everywhere and especially college students. The term is "binge watching" and it is when you watch a certain show in a short period of time. For example, a week ago I binge watched the first season of the Blacklist and it was 22 episodes on Netflix and I finished them in a week.
I know a lot of you can relate to me about this phenomenon and it does not have to be a recent show either. I know people who binge watch old TV shows like Spongebob and Zoey 101 on Netflix. I myself found myself binge watching Entourage one summer and was able to finish all 8 seasons way too fast. It can take over our lives sometimes and especially on a rainy day there is nothing better than binge watching a great TV show.
So, how does everyone else feel about this? What do you binge watch? Any suggestions?
Though I am not much of a binge watcher myself, I definitely know a lot of people who are. I can say that when I first subscribed to Netflix I binge watched the first couple seasons of Breaking Bad over a short period of time. It is awesome that packages like Netflix allow you to access all seasons of a show, but it doesn't necessarily mean you have to watch them all at once.At the same time I am not really into shows that follow a story over the entirety of the season, I am more into sitcoms that offer a new storyline each episode. I can see how the other types of shows can really drag you in though.
ReplyDeleteEver since I've gotten netflix a few months ago I have been a total binge watcher. It's so addicting. I love watching shows on my ipad while having the comfort of laying in my bed. Like you said, nothing like binge watching on a rainy day.

ReplyDeleteMy roommates and I (since our original roommate bonding show got taken off Netflix) are starting Lost. But my binge watch shows have been Trailer Park Boys, Futurama, Bobs Burgers, American Dad, Adventure Time etc.
